Ronnie Joe Blackwell age 60 of Cove died Tuesday, June 01, 2010 at his brother’s home in Cherry Hill.
Ronnie was a very honest, fair and hard working person. He worked as a cattlemen, chicken farmer and trucker for most of his life. He drove a bob truck hauling poultry bedding for his brother for over 15 years and really enjoyed meeting the people he came in contact with on his deliveries. Some of Ronnie’s hobbies include gardening, working on his tractor and going to auctions. Ronnie was a trader and would trade for anything. He loved to buy antiques and restore them to their original state. One of Ronnie’s greatest accomplishments was having his two daughters and six wonderful grandchildren that he could spend time with. His family was very important to him and loved them deeply. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Anthony Blackwell.
Survivors include his wife, Lolly Blackwell of Monticello, Arkansas; two daughters, Christi Ryan and her husband, Glen of West Fork and Rhonda New of Florence, Arizona; one brother, Robert Blackwell and his wife Sharon of Cherry Hill; one sister, Sharon Martinez and her husband Frank of Mena; six grandchildren, Jordan, Emilee and Kamaran Felix of West Fork, and Wyatt and Kayla New and Alex Russell of Florence, Arizona; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and good friends.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at the Hall Funeral Service Chapel with Brother Todd Webb officiating. Interment will follow in the Nunley Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, June 4, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. in the Hall Funeral Service Chapel.
Pallbearers will be Robert Blackwell, Glen Ryan, Kevin Day, Frank Martinez, Gerald Lincks and Gerald Johnson.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Service in Mena.
